The universal hinge type corrugated expansion joint is called the universal hinge corrugated compensator.

The universal hinge corrugated expansion joint consists of a corrugated tube, a balance ring, 

and two pairs of hinge plates connected to the balance ring and the end tube, forming a flexible component. 


It is generally in the form of two universal hinges or two universal hinges.

It is used in conjunction with a single type hinge for assembly. 

Applicable to "L" and "Z" type pipe systems,

mainly compensating the combined displacement of multi-plane curved pipe sections through angular deflection.

Since the balance ring, pin shaft and hinge plate can withstand the action of pressure thrust and other additional external forces,

the expansion joint itself absorbs the internal pressure thrust and does not exert external force on the pipeline. 

Therefore, the setting of pipeline supports can be simplified.


Performance characteristics of the universal hinge type corrugated expansion joint: 

The universal hinge type corrugated compensator can compensate for any angular displacement of the pipeline in any direction. 

The main difference between the universal hinge type expansion joint and the hinge type lies in the fact that it has a universal ring.

Around the circumference of the universal ring, there are two pairs of mutually perpendicular hinge structures.

Therefore, it can absorb angular displacements in any plane.

Similarly, two or three combinations are required when absorbing displacement. 

Application scope of universal hinge type corrugated expansion joint: 

It should be applicable to various complex piping systems and be capable of compensating for the angular displacements of various spatial piping systems,

such as L-shaped pipes, Z-shaped pipes, U-shaped pipes, etc. 

The universal hinge compensator is mostly used to compensate for the displacement of the pipe system.

Due to its unique structure, the pipe support does not bear the internal pressure thrust but only the elastic force of the compensator. 

When used, it is arranged in the same way as the planar hinge. 

Design temperature range for the universal hinge compensator: -20 to +400 degrees Celsius
